The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is a vibrant department which has strong research expertise in Data Science and Statistics; Applied and Computational Mathematics; Mathematical and Stochastic Analysis; and the Mathematics of Life Sciences.
We have a distinguished track record of conducting high quality research in mathematics and statistics applied to a wide range of real-world problems. The Department has also developed distinctive teaching modules for our own degree programmes, as well as for scientists and engineers across the University, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The Department is committed to Athena SWAN principles, as recognised by a Bronze Award.
The Department seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Statistics with a focus on Health and Medical Statistics. We are looking for an ambitious, forward-thinking and collaborative statistician who will help to drive this expanding research area and play a key role in developing and delivering our growing portfolio of postgraduate programmes, as well as advancing our internationalisation efforts in this field. The post of Lecturer in Statistics forms part of the team of statisticians working within the Data Science and Statistics research group. The Department has world-leading expertise in applied statistics and stochastics and the successful applicant will join a vibrant and enthusiastic environment that promotes excellence in research, knowledge exchange and teaching activities.
