The Impact Officer plays a pivotal role in collecting and communicating the value that WMG’s research delivers to UK industry. The role continually manages and improves our methods for capturing impact across WMG’s diverse research portfolio and maintain a high‑quality, reportable database of impact projects and case studies.
As WMG’s lead for this activity, the Impact Officer is responsible for an accurate, timely approach to impact capture and reporting
The Impact Officer ensures this impact is presented accurately to both internal and external customers and directly deliver WMG’s monthly, quarterly and annual submissions to the High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC).
About You
The ideal candidate for the IMPACT Officer role will combine strong analytical skills and attention to detail with excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
You are skilled in maintaining structured data systems and governance processes, and capable of working proactively and professionally under pressure.
You confidently engage with colleagues at all levels within the organisation to support accurate monthly and quarterly HVMC reporting.
You collect, validate, and interpret complex data using Microsoft suite including MS Excel, CoPilot and Power BI. You develop clear and compelling impact reports and support creating narratives derived from WMG’s research activities.
You are highly organised, able to manage recurring deadlines in a fast‑paced research governance or innovation environment with a calm and collaborative approach.
