Applications are invited for an appointment as Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology / Director of Clinical Practice at the University of Galway.
The successful applicant will be required to oversee the planning and development of all clinical practice components of the training programme, which involves holding primary responsibility for developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing processes and documentation for the evaluation of trainees’ clinical skills consistent with the ‘Competency Framework’ model, as required by the Psychological Society of Ireland. The postholder will fulfil the role of Director of Clinical Practice and ensure that clinical practice components of the DPsychSc programme align with the published standards of proficiency for Clinical Psychologists associated with future statutory regulation of the profession through CORU. The postholder will provide leadership for the Clinical Placement Team with respect to strategy and policy development relating to all areas of clinical practice. In conjunction with the Director of the DPsychSc Programme, the postholder will contribute to formulating current and long-range programme goals and plans consistent with policy and regulatory requirements relevant to the Irish health service and the profession of Clinical Psychology in Ireland.
