About the role:
The Executive Officer will provide essential support to the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities to enable the effective delivery of their duties. The role will be based in the Faculty Business Operations function, managed by the Head of Business Operations, and will work across departments in the Faculty, also providing support to the Director of Operations and contributing to the effective running of the Faculty Office.
The Executive Officer will undertake a range of duties including the coordination of cross-departmental and Faculty processes, inbox and complex diary management, and the provision of secretariat support to the Dean’s Senior Team meetings. As well as ensuring the delivery of day-to-day operations, the Executive Officer will proactively identify ways to improve service delivery and demonstrate a willingness to take on responsibility for discrete areas of project work as required.
The role will act as the first point of contact for the Office of the Executive Dean and will be required to regularly liaise with senior Faculty and departmental colleagues, academics, professional services staff across the Faculty and wider university, and external partners.
This role is currently undertaken on a hybrid basis, with the role-holder spending a minimum of two days of their working week on campus and the rest of the week working remotely.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract to 31 October 2027.
Interviews are expected to take place the week beginning 6th July 2026.
