The Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (LCFI) is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to the post of Postgraduate Coordinator, to join LCFI's core administrative team supporting the development and smooth running of our postgraduate programmes. This is a permanent post.

The focus of this role is to provide comprehensive administrative support for the postgraduate programmes at LCFI through a range of administrative tasks. The role will have administrative oversight of the educational programmes, including the MPhil course, the new PhD programme and short courses (run in partnership with Cambridge University Press and Assessment). LCFI also co-runs an MSt course with PACE, and the role holder will be expected to provide occasional support to colleagues at PACE.

This varied role will include acting as a first point of contact for all postgraduate enquiries. The role will involve working closely with Course Director(s) and the LCFI Education Director to ensure that courses are delivered effectively, to provide necessary reports and information for the School of Arts and Humanities Degree Committee, and to action any decisions taken. As the centre launches its new PhD course, the Postgraduate Coordinator will support the Centre's community of PhD students and be involved in the development and eventual delivery of new educational courses.

The successful candidate will be proficient in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Teams; have well developed organisational skills; and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. They should be able to work with a high level of accuracy and have good attention to detail. Administrative experience in a Higher Education environment and knowledge of course administration is essential for this role.

The Postgraduate Coordinator reports to the Centre Co-ordinator and will work predominantly with the education team at LCFI (Education Director, Assistant Professors and Teaching Associates).

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Managing admissions processes and funding competitions.
  • Organisation, planning and administration of the PhD and MPhil courses and examination process.
  • Administrative support/coordination including providing information for the School's Degree Committee.
  • Developing and maintaining office procedures, reviewing processes for effective postgraduate administration.
  • Acting as first point of contact for postgraduate enquiries.
  • Working closely with Course Directors/Leads to contribute towards the organisation of student induction, seminars, student conferences and other events.
