About the Post
BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Graphic Illustration pathways at the University of Suffolk are seeking a forward-thinking Lecturer to join the course team, with a focus on the integration of motion design and delivering core Adobe Creative Cloud skills across the programme. The successful candidate will introduce Level 4 students to fundamental software literacy as a foundation for creative development, while also advancing motion design practices throughout all levels of the degree.
The post holder will contribute to teaching, learning and assessment across modules, delivering workshops in motion-based software, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. They will support students in building confident digital workflows, enhancing creative problem-solving, enabling visual communication, and extending their portfolios through motion design.
We welcome applications from academics or practitioners with expertise in motion design and Adobe CC, and a strong understanding of contemporary graphic design and illustration practice. The role requires an ability to contextualise software skills within employability, aligning with the course’s emphasis on professional practice and transferable skills.
The Graphic Design course offers academic and pastoral support to students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that is industry-focused, where students develop creative, critical, and professional capabilities in a purpose-built arts facility at the Ipswich campus.
The successful candidate will contribute to scholarly activity, research, and knowledge exchange; engage in course development, recruitment activity (including open days), and wider School initiatives; offer opportunities to contribute to curriculum innovation, build external networks, and enhance the University’s academic profile through research and professional engagement.
