About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategic Change team as a fixed term Strategic Change Officer. The team brings together strategy development, business analysis, service design and change delivery to help shape and enable the University’s future. The role will support the delivery of strategic projects and change initiatives across Swansea University turning strategy into action and supporting meaningful change across the institution.

The postholder will contribute to a wide range of project and change activities, supporting requirements gathering, process mapping, analysis, planning, reporting and stakeholder engagement. Working collaboratively with professional services teams, academic colleagues and external partners, you will help turn ideas into well defined plans and practical solutions aligned with institutional priorities.

Day to day responsibilities will include supporting business case and project plan development, preparing clear and concise reports and summaries, maintaining documentation, and assisting with risk and issue management. You will also support change readiness and adoption activities, including communications, training and engagement, ensuring that stakeholders are informed and supported throughout the change process.

The role offers the opportunity to lead small projects or workstreams under supervision and to develop your skills in project delivery, business analysis and change management within a supportive, collaborative environment. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working with sensitive and time critical information.

This position is well suited to someone with experience in project, change or business analysis who is motivated, adaptable and keen to contribute to meaningful, organisation wide improvement in a values driven university setting

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
