The Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences (NMES) is a vibrant faculty with a long tradition of world-leading research and teaching in physics, mathematics, chemistry, informatics and engineering.  We deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of undergraduate and masters degrees, to around 4,500 students. 

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, highly organised and people oriented Senior Programmes Manager. 

This is an exciting opportunity to take up a post that has specific responsibility for the leadership of programme administration for a new integrated first year for undergraduate engineering programmes, bringing together three programmes from two faculties and launching in September 2027.  

This is a key part of King’s investment in growth in Engineering and brings together staff from across the two faculties (Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences, and Life Sciences & Medicine) to deliver an innovative new first year.  The role holder will collaborate with teams across the faculties to establish, coordinate and support the delivery of the programmes.  They will plan and implement key processes to ensure an outstanding staff and student experience. 

The Senior Programmes Manager is a key role in the faculty, contributing to the development and delivery of faculty educational aims as well as supporting the wider university strategy and vision.  The role holder works to enhance and improve process and will lead on a range of projects across programme management activities in support of student and staff in a period of change.   

The role is responsible for:

  • The effective delivery of programme administration and education support for programmes in the faculty, ensuring a consistent, high level of professionalism, and alignment with university and faculty strategies and priorities.
  • Leadership of programme administration in the faculty, developing and maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders, networks and external partners.
  • Monitoring and supporting delivery of high quality customer service through continual review and monitoring of adherence to indicators of service delivery.
  • Anticipating and addressing service delivery issues, ensuring resources are fully utilised at times of peak demand and escalating when additional resource is needed 
  • Representing the faculty in wider university activities and committees, in support of the faculty’s interests and engaging with university functions.

Successful candidates will have a proactive approach to leadership with strong experience of project management, negotiating and influencing and motivating teams. They will have a good understanding of programme administration in Higher Education, a commitment to continuous improvement and excellent communication skills.

This is a hybrid role; the role holder will spend a minimum of two days per working week on campus. The role-holder will be expected to attend campus more regularly during periods of peak annual activity and to meet business needs.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
