About the Role
A position of a Research Assistant is available at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) to work with Dr Vladimir Volkov. The purpose of this role is to contribute to research in the Volkov lab, related to our ongoing efforts to understand the molecular mechanisms of force sensitivity during cell division.We are seeking an individual with a keen interest in contributing to fundamental research and a willingness to learn new skills within our international and diverse team. You should have a strong education at a degree level (at least upper-second class) in Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline, and a postgraduate degree or documented record of hands-on research in an academic setting.
About You
You should demonstrate documented experience in advanced protein biochemistry, as specified in the Job Pack, and in conducting single-molecule fluorescence microscopy experiments. We are looking for an efficient and motivated team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills; you should also have a good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and rules.
