The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Library Services team. As a Library Adviser, you will play a vital role encouraging our students, staff and visitors to explore and make use of all our services, supporting all in achieving their full potential.

Your working days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and working hours will be 11am-7pm.

As a member of our Library Services team, you will play a key role in supporting students and staff in making the most of our print and digital collections. You’ll provide guidance on using the library, study spaces and services, as well as providing basic IT support. You will offer friendly and knowledgeable support for a wide range of library enquiries, helping students thrive in their academic journey.

Key responsibilities will include:-

  • Assist users in navigating both physical and online library resources.
  • Provide support at self-service points and help users with general library and some IT queries.
  • Ensure a positive and productive library experience by maintaining a welcoming study environment through regular roving.
  • Support stock management and circulation processes to keep our collections accessible and up to date.
  • Collaborate with Nest (our student support team) and other University departments to promote services and events throughout the year.
  • Contribute to a dynamic and inclusive library atmosphere by participating in projects and activities that respond to the evolving needs of our students.
