The role

As our Technical Specialist in Film Production, you will provide technical support and specialist tuition to students and staff in the School of Arts, maintaining specialist equipment and spaces, and the highest standards of Health and Safety practice as a member of a collaborative and centralised school technical team.

You will focus on work in the Film Production and Digital Media Production areas while contributing to the overall technical operational needs of the School of Arts.

Key responsibilities include maintaining workshops, equipment, and technical stores; ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and COSHH requirements; supporting exhibitions, screenings, events, field trips, and other programme activities; and monitoring student engagement and achievement. The post holder will work closely with academic and technical colleagues to enhance the student experience, stay current with developments in their specialist field, and contribute to an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.

The role also requires participation in key University events and the flexibility to undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility.

You should have

HNC or equivalent level qualification, or experience in Film and or HETV Production. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. See the person specification and job description for full details.
