Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: Hybrid – two days a week on campus in our MacLaurin Building, Hatfield, Hertfordshire and three days at home.

Main duties and responsibilities

The University of Hertfordshire is looking for a Prospect Engagement Executive to support the delivery of the program of marketing activity to convert both prospective student enquiries and applications into registered students to achieve the UK student recruitment targets. Our campaigns run across all channels and you’ll have ownership and execution of email marketing plans, creating storytelling content and building emails to guide prospects through their application journey. You will also create, manage and segment audience lists, as well as test and report on campaign success.

Working within the Marketing and Communications department, you will support the development and implementation of an overarching student communications plan from enquiry to enrolment using  appropriate levels of audience segmentation to deliver personalised and relevant touch-points. You will also work with the Insight, CRM and Digital teams to leverage data to understand the changing needs of target audiences and to adapt and improve engagement plans to ensure a positive prospect experience and work with the other internal Marketing & Communications teams to produce storytelling content to address and meet the needs of students that is indirectly supporting their course choice, including video and photography for multi-channel distribution.

Skills and experience required

You will have an understanding of integrated marketing campaigns, tools and tactics and experience of email marketing and using a CRM system for segmentation, dynamic content, building/maintaining automated emails and A/B testing. Experience of marketing communications campaigns delivery, particularly in relation to customer engagement and conversion, experience of content creation and experience copywriting for multiple audience and formats; editing and proof-reading is essential.

You should have an understanding of insight-led development of engagement programs and using a test and learn approach and a strong understanding of email marketing and success metrics. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as copywriting, editing and proof-reading skills are essential to this role. An understanding of Higher Education and the admissions and recruitment processes within Higher Education would be desirable.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent, or equivalent proven experience.
