Department
An exciting opportunity has arisen to support our dynamic midwifery education team as a Lecturer at the University of York. The successful candidate will contribute to the vibrant, multidisciplinary environment of the Department of Health Sciences (DoHS). The Department’s core aim is to improve health and healthcare through the delivery of high-quality teaching and the application of challenge-led research to policy and practice. Role
We are seeking to appoint a committed and highly motivated registered midwife with a passion for midwifery education and extensive knowledge of contemporary midwifery practice. Experience of teaching in higher education (HE) settings would be desirable, as would experience in the care of women and newborn infants with additional care needs and complications.
With clinical partners, we provide highly regarded midwifery education, which is fully accredited with the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards, and achievement of the BFI Gold Sustainability Award.
The successful candidate will mainly be contributing to the midwifery education portfolio, primarily the pre-registration BMid (Hons) programme in Midwifery. The Department offers a range of other undergraduate and postgraduate midwifery and nursing programmes which the postholder may also be able to contribute to.
The role is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave.
