*Due to the nature of this role the post holder will be expected to be on campus 5 days a week. The option of hybrid is available outside term when there is no operational requirement to be on site. The post holder will also be expected to start their working day at 08:30am each day during term time to fulfil their role requirements.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to develop their career in a dynamic and busy teaching environment.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and detail-oriented individual with relevant administrative experience, ideally within an education setting, to provide high-quality support to the Student Office team in the Department of Materials.
Based in the Student Office, the Student Office Administrator will play a key role in the efficient administration of all taught programmes within the Department. The postholder will be responsible for a range of administrative activities, including supporting the admissions process for all taught programmes, maintaining student records and attendance data, providing examination support, and delivering high-quality student support throughout the academic year.
The role involves working closely with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Senior Tutors, Admissions Tutors, the MSc Course Director and other colleagues across the Department to ensure an excellent experience for prospective and current students.
What you will be doing:
Admissions (UG & MSc)
Planning and organising Department’s undergraduate and MSc admission interview days online and in-person, supporting the ongoing development of the admissions process.
Monitoring the Department’s admissions inbox, acting as the first point of contact for enquiries from prospective students, by email, telephone and in-person.
Student records and attendance information
Creating and maintaining accurate class registers for all taught students and the dissemination of student ID cards.
Exams
Coordinating the administrative preparation for assessments and examinations, including producing barcodes and assessment booklets, printing registers, preparing invigilator packs, organising examination laptops and calculators, and arranging room signage.
