About the role:

As a Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography in the Peninsula Medical School, you will:

  • Contribute to teaching and assessment across a range of programmes, and your enthusiasm for your subject will extend to providing high quality teaching and mentoring, informed by excellent scholarship and your own experience.
  • Work in close conjunction with colleagues within the Faculty, NHS and Independent sector to deliver a high-quality student learning experience across the programmes. This is an ideal opportunity for applicants who may wish to continue with their clinical role whilst developing their academic career.

  • Lead a year 1 diagnostic radiography module
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate diagnostic radiography programmes through lectures, simulation, practical skills training and clinical education.
  • Support and mentor students throughout their academic learning journey, including personal tutoring and assessment activities.
  • Participate in programme development, scholarship, quality assurance activities and broader academic initiatives within the School.

For this role, you will need to be on site 2 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.

This is a part time maternity cover position, working 18.5 hours per week on a fixed term basis until 27/08/2027.

There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.

What we’re looking for:

  • BSc or equivalent in a relevant science subject.
  • Experience of delivering high-quality research-led teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills, with a passion for supporting student success.
