Sessional Lecturers – Engineering (Flying Faculty – China)

Location: Dalian Polytechnic University, Dalian, Liaoning Province, China

Contract: Sessional Flying Faculty Pool (Flexible Overseas Teaching Assignments)

Teaching Periods: Typically 6–8 week teaching blocks during Semester 1 and Semester 2

Salary: Competitive hourly teaching rate, plus flights, accommodation, subsistence and local support.

Wrexham University is seeking experienced academics and industry professionals to join our Flying Faculty Sessional Pool to support the delivery of our BEng (Hons) Mechatronics Engineering programme at Dalian Polytechnic University, one of our established partners in China.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain international teaching experience while delivering high-quality engineering education within a supportive Transnational Education (TNE) partnership.

Subject Areas

We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in one or more of the following:

• Electrical Engineering
• Instrumentation and Control
• Industrial Electronics and Applications
• Mechatronics Applications
• Electronics Technology
• Industrial Automation and PLCs

Teaching is delivered in intensive blocks of approximately 6–8 weeks, depending on programme requirements.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have:

• A postgraduate qualification in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Higher education teaching experience or significant industrial experience.
• The ability to deliver engaging, student-centred teaching.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience of laboratory teaching and/or Transnational Education.  

The following are desirable:

• Fellowship of Advance HE or an HE teaching qualification.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or professional body membership.
• A collaborative and flexible approach to working internationally.
