Academic Associates

University of Oxford - St. Catherine’s College

Location: Oxford
Salary: Not Specified
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 13th August 2026
Closes: 7th September 2026

St Catherine’s College proposes to appoint a small number of Academic Associates with effect from Michaelmas Term 2026 for one year in the first instance with the possibility of renewal, to be part of the College’s academic community and to assist in furthering the College’s academic objectives. Academic Associates are appointed to enrich collegiate life and will be warmly encouraged to partake in all aspects of it. Applications from those employed by departments within the Social Sciences and Medical Sciences Divisions are particularly sought.

Previous Academic Associates have chosen to serve as College Advisors for up to ten graduate students, and on an entirely voluntary basis, we invite the successful candidate to do the same, as a means of strengthening the College community and forging ties between the Senior and Middle common rooms. Academic Associates are not subject to a contract, and serving as a College Advisor is entirely at the Academic Associate’s discretion. Further information about the role and purpose of College Advisors is available at https://www.stcatz.ox.ac.uk/college-advisors-and-advisees-principal-roles/.

The successful candidate will hold a post-doctoral research and/or teaching position at the University of Oxford.

The Academic Associateships will be non-stipendiary. The Academic Associates will be members of the Senior Common Room and as such will be entitled, free of charge, to one lunch and two dinners per week during term-time.

Informal enquiries about Academic Associates may be made to the Academic Registrar, Dr Benjamin Skipp (academic.registrar@stcatz.ox.ac.uk).
