We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist assistant to join Dr. Verena Körber’s research group, focusing on somatic evolution in human somatic tissues.

The postholder will focus the quantification of clonal dynamics in human stem and progenitor cell populations through the development of advanced mathematical models. They will independently design, develop, and parameterise these models using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, applying state-of-the-art parameter inference techniques. The role will also involve creating robust, efficient, and reproducible computational code capable of running at scale within high-performance computing (HPC) environments. In parallel, the postholder will undertake the bioinformatic analysis of NGS datasets, generating the data and insights required to inform and refine the mathematical models.

Applicants will hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics or Physics.
