About us
The Higher Education Development & Support Institute (HEDS) brings together UCL Arena and UCL Careers, supporting excellence in education, student experience and graduate outcomes. UCL Careers provides careers education and support to current students and graduates, alongside recruitment solutions and employer engagement activity.
UCL School of Management is home to world-leading research and education in business and management, with more than 2,000 students, over half of whom are from outside the UK. The School is currently undertaking an ambitious expansion as it delivers a strategy to double in size over the next five years.
About the role
As Senior Employer Engagement Officer, you will lead the development of employer and alumni relationships that create valuable opportunities and experiences for postgraduate students across the UCL School of Management.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including employers, alumni, academic colleagues, Programme Directors, senior managers and professional services teams. You will use your understanding of stakeholder needs, labour market insight and student feedback to identify opportunities, secure engagement and develop activities that deliver meaningful outcomes.
A key part of the role will be designing and delivering a programme of employer and alumni activity, which could include employer-led events, skills workshops, mentoring opportunities, internships and other experiences that connect students with the world of work. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to shape content, agree objectives and ensure activities are delivered to a high standard.
You will also take responsibility for project managing activity from initial idea through to delivery and evaluation. This will involve coordinating stakeholders, managing competing priorities, monitoring engagement and using qualitative and quantitative feedback to assess impact and identify opportunities for improvement.
About you
We are looking for a collaborative and proactive professional with experience of building and managing effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be confident engaging with people at different levels and able to establish credibility, understand different perspectives and influence others to achieve shared outcomes.
You will have experience of working in a stakeholder-facing, partnership, engagement or professional services environment, with the ability to manage multiple relationships and projects simultaneously. You will be comfortable taking an idea from initial concept through to delivery, coordinating others, managing deadlines and evaluating the impact of your work.
Knowledge or experience of graduate recruitment, employer engagement, careers or relevant employment sectors such as professional services, consulting, technology, financial services, entrepreneurship or innovation would be valuable. We would also welcome applications from individuals who have developed strong stakeholder management and partnership experience in another professional services, higher education or business environment.
