The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. The Assistant Professor will support the delivery of epidemiological research on prevention of violence against children and adolescents, including randomised controlled trials and other quantitative and mixed methods studies. This will include evaluating the impact of the Good School Toolkit (GST) Agile at scale in Uganda.
Applicants will have a doctoral degree in the field of public health, psychology, science or other related discipline. Proven experience in quantitative survey data collection, design or analysis, analytical skills in evidence synthesis, quantitative or qualitative analysis. As well as evidence of good organisational skills, including effective time management.
The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 30 April 2028. The post is funded by the Oak Foundation and is available from 01 October 2026.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 7 in the range £53,317 - £61,034 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM but will require overseas travel for periods of weeks to potentially months, during periods of data collection.
