Job Summary
Imperial College London is seeking a Commercial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial success of Imperial’s diverse hospitality and accommodation portfolio, spanning more than 5,000 student rooms, a major summer accommodation operation and 30+ catering outlets with annual turnover of around £50m. As the link between finance and operations, you will transform complex commercial and operational data into practical insight—analysing revenue, labour, cost of sales, gross profit and pricing to support smarter, more profitable decisions.
Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams, Finance, ICT and external partners, you will develop budgets, forecasts, dashboards and investment models that drive sustainable growth and continuous improvement. You will help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen financial control and maximise returns, while ensuring robust governance, VAT compliance and high-quality reporting across one of the world’s leading universities.
We expect you to hold a relevant professional qualification in finance, business, or an analytical discipline; part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent. You should also have an advanced Excel and financial modelling capability, with experience building, maintaining, and improving complex financial models and reporting tools such as Power BI.
The role is hybrid, and the working hours are 35 hours per week.
