The role
We are looking for a Commercial Performance Manager to lead the commercial performance of the University's accommodation portfolio, comprising around 9,000 beds and generating more than £80m in annual income.
Working within Accommodation Services, you will use data, market insight and commercial analysis to drive occupancy, revenue and customer outcomes across student, staff and short-stay accommodation.
This is a new role, offering the opportunity to shape a growing commercial function and influence strategic decisions across pricing, demand management, marketing, product development and customer journeys.
What will you be doing?
Analyse occupancy, demand, booking and market data to identify opportunities to improve performance.
Develop recommendations on pricing, inventory management, campaigns and channel strategy.
Lead commercial initiatives to address occupancy challenges and maximise revenue opportunities.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and wider housing conditions to inform decision making.
Produce reports, forecasts and business cases for senior stakeholders.
Work closely with colleagues across operations, systems, service design, admissions and finance to deliver commercial objectives.
Develop and maintain commercial processes, controls and performance measures.
Support long-term planning through demand forecasting, performance analysis and continuous improvement activity.
You should apply if
You enjoy using insight to solve problems and improve performance. You are motivated by understanding what works, what doesn't, and finding ways to make things better for customers and the organisation.
You might currently work in a commercial, analytical, operational or planning role and be looking for an opportunity to broaden your impact. We're interested in people who can demonstrate curiosity, initiative, critical thinking and the ability to influence others through evidence and strong communication.
This is a new role for our service and we are open to candidates with a range of backgrounds and experiences. We don't expect applicants to have experience of every aspect of the role from day one. If you can demonstrate strong potential, commercial awareness and a track record of using data or insight to drive improvement, we'd love to hear from you.
