Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate: Synthesis and Investigation of Molecular Electronic Devices to work with Professor Harry L Anderson on the investigation of quantum effects in molecules electronic in devices for a period of up to 30 months. 

The project will involve the synthesis and testing of new redox-active pi-systems for exploration of molecular structure-property relationships in single-molecular transistors, fabricated using graphene nanogaps. Find out more about the research group at: and 

You should have a PhD in chemistry or physics, or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up your appointment. Expertise in multistep organic synthesis and/or molecular electronics is essential. Experience in quantitative physical organic chemistry, spectroscopy, physical chemistry or materials chemistry is highly desirable. 

The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, Mansfield Road, Oxford.
