Trilateral Research is a leading interdisciplinary research and technology services development company with offices in the UK and Ireland. Our teams collaborate across social sciences and technology development, deriving insights that support data-driven innovation. We deliver bespoke, interdisciplinary services to clients in the public and private sectors. Trilateral is recruiting for a Research Impact Officer and to join our communications and marketing team. 

The successful candidate will focus on:

Project-specific communications and dissemination activities, working with partners to develop communication and dissemination strategies and their implementation for H2020 innovation projects supporting impact efforts.

Managing the processes to achieve effective dissemination and communication, ultimately leading to strong impact.

The candidate should have an understanding of contemporary communication and marketing channels for research and industry purposes and broad experience in developing communication and marketing materials (e.g., websites, social media, blogs, newsletters, etc.) and campaigns.

Developing a good understanding of the communication role in a Research and Development context especially within the European Innovation Programmes.

Monitoring and reporting about the projects’ impact and using research outputs to contribute to wider corporate communications strategies to enhance Trilateral’s reputation and profile.

Liaising with staff members and external organisations (project partners and clients) to deliver excellent leadership in communication and dissemination activities, often with demanding deadlines.

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Generating content for communication and marketing materials (e.g., posters, brochures, press releases, newsletters).
  • Sourcing ideas, commissioning, writing and editing blog posts to raise awareness of the expertise and research developed at Trilateral.
  • Management and content development for social media channels and websites (using standard content editors such as WordPress).
  • Development of communication and dissemination strategies and plans, and monitoring and management of associated activities.
  • Working with external partners to set up and manage the processes needed to effectively implement the dissemination and communications activities.
  • Attending/presenting at project meetings, conferences and workshops, involving occasional travel in the EU.
  • Writing reports showcasing impact achieved.


  • Candidates will be studying for or will have completed a Master’s Degree.
  • Candidates will have a qualification or experience in a relevant field (e.g., digital marketing and research/science communications). An interest in innovation, new technologies and/or in social science would be an advantage. Candidates should have strong, demonstrable writing skills and preferably will have already published news items, magazine articles and other popular press materials.
  • Proven experience in website content management and development.
  • Proven experience in social media management.
