The Facilities Manager has a responsibility to ensure that the building and associated services are fit for purpose and provide the correct level of support to the School's educational and research activities. You will be responsible for continually improving service delivery performance across all building and conference services, pro-actively seeking feedback from customers/users/clients and responding positively to suggestions to foster a genuine customer focused culture.
You will lead a team of thirteen staff and have an annual non-staff budget in excess of £740,000. You will be responsible for providing a range of services across six separate properties, including reception, custodial and maintenance to a growing and busy customer base in the business school.
Educated to degree level with a strong customer service ethos and understanding of managing client-focused relationships, you will have excellent line management and communication skills both written and verbal. We are looking for an individual who understands that our buildings are an infrastructure to our programmes and has a wide, diverse user base and as such, is prepared to actively engage with our clients and users to ensure that all aspects of the customer journey are effectively delivered and exceeds expectations. The successful candidate will be well-organised with a high degree of initiative and ability to plan.
You will have sound knowledge of building services and of health and safety legislation and practice and proven experience of contract negotiation and the management of projects. Qualifications in facilities management, food safety & hygiene and Health & Safety are all desirable. You should have sound problem solving skills and the ability to work with conflicting priorities. A willingness to be on call out-of hours is required to fulfil this role successfully.
