About Beijing Institute of Technology, ZHUHAI (BITZH) 

BITZH is located in the City of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, next to Macau and Hong Kong, easily accessible via Beijing-Hongkong-Macau highway, West Guangdong highway, Guangzhou-Zhuhai express train and also by air travel. The campus covers a scenic area of over 3.3 million square meters with more than 80% of green coverage. It has a reputation for being one of the most naturally beautiful campuses in Zhuhai. 

On May 8, 2004, BITZH was jointly established by Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and Guangda Strategic Investment Co., Ltd under the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and with the support of Zhuhai Municipal Government. BITZH is a legally and financially independent college and an academic affiliated college of BIT. 

At present, BITZH consists of 13 academic schools, In 2020, the institute has about 25000 full-time undergraduate students. Graduates of BITZH are quite competitive and popular on the job market.      

About School of Civil and Commercial Law (SCCL) 

School of Civil and Commercial Law (SCCL) is one of the prestigious law school in Canton, China, which focus on the area of Civil Law、 Common law、Intellectual property law 、Contract law、Private International law、International Economic Law、Commercial Law and Economics. 

On the basis of the basic talent training philosophy of the SCCL, the international class focuses on creating the characteristics of international talent training, so as to make adequate transition preparations for students to study abroad. The basic study plan of this 3+1 customized class is that the basic education system is three years, after obtaining the undergraduate law degree of our school. Credit score points and English IELTS scores that meet the admission standards of the University of Leicester, UK, can go directly to the University of Leicester Law School to study for a Master of Laws in International Business Law, Financial Law, and Intellectual Property Law. The admission review is additionally reviewed by the University of Leicester. 

Qualifications and Requirements 

The SCCL is aimed at attracting outstanding teachers both from China and abroad. To those recruited via this program, the college offers competitive salary to ensure that teacher have a favorable teaching environment and optimum working and living conditions so that they can be dedicated to teaching and the advancement research of their fields. The ideal candidate will be a fluent speaker of English with a PhD or J.D. or equivalent in law and experience of teaching or practicing in law. 

  • The applicant should hold a doctoral degree from a world-renowned university and with the level of assistant or associate professor (or an equivalent title) at an internationally prominent university is a plus; 
  • The applicant should be a proactive learner, who is professional with teamwork skills. At the same time, he or she should have the ability to conduct research independently; 
  • The applicant should work full-time at SCCL; 
  • Teach at least two law courses in English; 
  • Advise or discuss with the faculty on teaching law courses in English or publishing in English; 
  • Give lectures or prepare workshops on his/her research interest; 
  • The one who holds this position should engage in high-quality teaching and fulfill the teaching requirements of the relevant school or department.  

Remuneration 

£ 35,000 to £ 60,000 (negotiable as needed) 

(foreign teachers should pay individual income tax.) 

Accommodation 

We provide accommodation on campus for the long-term foreign teachers 

 (Rent, Fees of electricity, gas should be paid by individuals.)  

Insurance & Medical Care  

Long-term foreign teachers will be entitled to public medical care the same as the other faculty members of the school.

Those with professional titles (including retired professors) and with J.D. (LL.M.) degree or above, and those with abundant experience of teaching or practicing in law have priority. For those with no professional titles, a Ph.D. degree is required.
