We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Deputy Director to join our vibrant Student Support Department. The purpose of the Student Support service is to support student retention, achievement and satisfaction by providing a range of services to enhance student wellbeing and ensure that all students have access to a range of support appropriate to their needs. The aim is to ensure that services are visible, effective and tailored to the needs of our student community. The Service makes a key contribution to the University’s mission to support all students, whatever their background, to reach their full potential.

The post of Deputy Director will be accountable for the coordination and provision of a high quality and professional service, setting strategic targets and operational plans, which are continually improved and monitored to ensure the services work together and are equipped to meet the evolving needs of the students. The post-holder will be responsible for the day to day delivery, management and development of the Service; and for providing expertise and advice to the University on a range of areas, including disabilities, mental health and risk management. Additionally, the post will oversee the administrators, Info Team and Access Centre.

We are looking for a charismatic individual with extensive experience of managing the delivery of an excellent support service in a user focussed, professional environment, preferably in higher education; significant experience in delivering strategic objectives; and considerable experience in managing a successful professional team delivering support or development services.
