Faculty / Directorate
The Faculty of Art Design and Humanities (ADH) is home to many of DMU's creative disciplines and humanities subjects and is one of the UK's leading Higher Education providers of creative disciplines. Working in a busy and dynamic administration team, we provide professional support service to our 5000 students and 300 members of staff across our 3 main buildings; the award winning V J Patel Building, the Clephan Building and our Performing Arts Centre of Excellence.
The Associate Professor Quality (AP Q) is a key leadership role within the university’s academic community, making a positive, significant and strategic contribution.
The Associate Professor Quality will work with the Deputy Dean and Associate Dean Academic to strategically and operationally engage with relevant staff to progress validation, re-validations, modifications and PSRB accreditations, smoothly. They will provide strategic vision for programme developments, appropriate assessments and innovations in teaching and learning. They will oversee peer observations for the faculty outlining development needs alongside responsibility for the reporting including reporting of programme enhancements through to the Executive.
The AP Q will therefore be both a highly accomplished educator with proven expertise in the delivery of learning and development or programmes of study and have the respect of the academic community. They will be comfortable and proactive in providing colleagues with relevant support, advice and guidance for their academic roles. They will join cross-university groups in an advisory capacity and represent the Faculty in a variety of arenas, able to support all the disciplines and subjects of the Faculty and overseas.
The post holder will have knowledge and expertise in quality assurance being fully cognisant of our own internal regulations and programme developments; subject benchmarks and frameworks for QAA/OfS, TEF, OFSTED and the frameworks of new types of programmes including accelerated degrees; distance learning; Higher Degree Apprenticeships; level 3 Foundation regulations through to PGT; collaborative and dual awards in international contexts.
