This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a large, centralised team delivering a range of activities to deliver student recruitment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced data and process officer to join our Student Recruitment and Admissions Data and Process Team within the award-winning External Relations Department.
The Student Recruitment team consists of 110 staff members, and you will work closely with employees from all areas (UCAS Admissions, Direct Admissions, and the Student Recruitment Support Hub) as well as the wider university. The role will be based at Kings Meadow Campus, but you will work collaboratively with staff at all levels across the campuses.
You will be part of the Data and Process team, comprising of six members of staff, and will have responsibility for configuration of specific areas of the application records system (Campus Solutions). As part of this, you will have the opportunity to develop and document new processes and shape how this work is carried out.
Your role will involve responding to data requests and producing data visualisations. This will include producing more complex reports, where you will work closely with staff at all levels across the university to establish, clarify and present data to inform student recruitment and admissions activity. You will be expected to network and influence, get involved with policy and process review and motivate and develop staff.
A number of software packages will be used in this role, and you should be able to work with software confidently. You will proactively and creatively consider how the needs of the university can be fulfilled and ensure that data is presented to university staff in a clear and accessible format. You will also be required to ensure that university-held admissions data is accurate, up to date, and is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation. We are particularly interested in candidates who can problem-solve issues as they arise and work proactively with colleagues to consider process improvements.
Candidates should have experience relevant to the role including excellent data-analysing and handling skills, along with the ability to liaise effectively with staff members to clarify and carry out data requests. You should have experience of managing and motivating a team and must also have strong IT skills and proven experience in the processing and presentation of data.
Experience in working in a Higher Education environment and a knowledge of student recruitment and application processes is desirable.
This is a permanent, full-time (36.25 hours) post. Job share arrangements would be considered.
