The School of Psychology is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Social Psychology, either E&R or ES&P to provide world leading research, excellent teaching and supervision, and related administration.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates whose research will complement or enhance our existing research areas in social, political and/or organisational psychology, and who can demonstrate their ability to teach in these areas at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering new and enhanced provision in social, political and organisational psychology and help attract new undergraduate and postgraduate students to the School.

For E&R applicants this role will likely suit someone in the early stages of their career whose research interests align with our existing areas of expertise, and who can teach across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

For ES&P applicants this role will likely suit someone in the early stages of their career whose interests align with development of our educational provision in social, political and organisational psychology.

As a Lecturer in Social Psychology you will:

  • Make a sustained and significant contribution to research that enhances the national and international profile of the University of Kent’s School of Psychology in the areas of social, political and organisational psychology
  • Develop and deliver excellent teaching and learning materials across a range of modules and contribute to core teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • Pro-actively contribute to administration in the School and the collegial work environment.
  • Undertake research and/or scholarship collaboratively within the School and beyond- nationally and internationally

To be successful in this role you will have/be:

  • PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in social, political or organisational psychology (or related disciplines)
  • Successful completion of world-leading and internationally excellent research in social, political or organisational psychology
  • Experience of delivering high quality teaching in higher education commensurate with career stage
  • Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) data analytic software used for teaching in the School (R and RStudio SPSS)
