An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate to join the School of Psychology for our neuroimaging study on spatial neglect post-stroke, one of the most disabling and 'hidden' cognitive syndromes post-stroke, broadly defined as an inability to attend to the side most affected by the stroke.
The study is part of the Efficacy and Mechanism SIGHT trial funded by the Medical Research Council and National Institute for Health Research, led by Dr. Stéphanie Rossit: https://www.fundingawards.nihr.ac.uk/award/NIHR159047. Your role will focus on the mechanistic neuroimaging study, embedded within the efficacy trial, which will use lesion-symptom mapping, resting state, and diffusion tensor imaging to determine if therapy response is modified by baseline brain structure and function.
You will be based at UEA, but expected to travel to collaborating sites for training, monitoring, and analysis purposes.
You will hold, or be nearing completion (within 2 months) of a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience or related research area (e.g., Medicine), have research experience with neuroimaging analysis relevant for this project and be able to satisfy all the essential criteria detailed in the person specification for this post. You will have relevant programming skills and experience with writing papers for academic journals.
This full-time post is available from 1 January 2025 on a fixed-term basis for 38 months.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Vulnerable Adult Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to vulnerable adults.
We strongly encourage applicants from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds to apply but welcome applications from all protected groups as defined by the Equality Act 2010. Appointment will be made on merit.
