Gateway Advisor (Evenings / Term Time Only)

Academic Services wishes to recruit an enthusiastic and effective Gateway Advisor to provide front-facing services to students and staff needing access to the Library and Support Services.

Applicants should be educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent, possess excellent interpersonal skills including an ability to communicate directly with non-technical users.  Experience of IT systems and applications such as Microsoft Office is essential as is the ability to work effectively on several tasks at the same time.

Experience of working in a student-orientated environment is essential. Previous experience of providing front-facing and/or experience of working with students in an education environment would be an advantage but not essential, as training will be given.  Equally important are the abilities to work as part of a team, use initiative, work flexibility and attention to detail. Being prepared to learn new skills, especially in the area of new technology, is also important.  A First Aid qualification (or the willingness to be trained as a First Aider/Appointed Persons) would be desirable.

The actual salary for this position will be £5,824 - £6,623 per annum.
