JOB OVERVIEW

  • Providing thought leadership in the development and use of learning technologies to drive student performance and facilitate opportunities.
  • leading the team and setting high expectations for students, teachers and student experience teams, which allows them to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students and stakeholders - taking a ‘one team’ approach.
  • supporting and guiding the Student Experience Teams, in order to ensure that key legislation is adhered to (Health and Safety, Safeguarding, UKVI Compliance) and that high-quality services, support and experiences are delivered to students and staff members alike.

You will have proven experience in strategic leadership in a complex multi-disciplinary environment, with evidence of significant success and results. You will have a strong understanding of UK Higher Education and experience in managing study programmes, student support services, administration and staff within an international, UK further and/or Higher Education context. You will be able to articulate and implement a clear vision to drive forward continuous improvement, as well as monitor and achieve our targets for student outcomes

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Articulate and implement our vision to drive forward continuous improvement and enable the centre to achieve the aspirational targets for student outcomes and contractual targets for student progression
  • Work closely with the Learning Delivery, Recruitment and Partnership Directors to implement a strategic approach to the partnership with the host university, progression, including developing new progression routes that maximise opportunities for recruitment to the centre
  • Help to shape the strategic direction and development of our programmes or new products to meet the overall strategic aims of the centre as an effective, attractive and high-quality pathway to UK Higher Education
  • Attend and actively contribute to relevant university partnership Boards and committees and work with university colleagues through approved liaison points and report regularly on these through the centre deliberative and management structures
  • Ensure that effective processes are in place for the recruitment of academic staff and ensure that all academic staff are suitably qualified to teach sessions and courses on which they are scheduled.
  • Create effective internal partnerships with key stakeholders from the Provider and Central Operations Teams; including HR, Finance, IT, Estates, Data Team, Sales and Marketing, and Academic Office.
  • Personally and through your team, manage and address any day-to-day issues that arise (including the student or staff disciplinary process  suspension, chair hearings or deliver outcomes), working with colleagues across the centre, the University, Study Group and externally in order to identify solutions and resolve problems effectively and efficiently
  • Prepare and present any business cases to recruit or resource to meet the needs of the curriculum. This will include detailing any budget requirements during the allocation phase
  • Lead on ensuring that the design and delivery of all courses are conducted with reference to and according to Study Group’s, partner universities and relevant external agencies’ quality frameworks, policies, procedures and codes of practice. This includes the production and delivery of such documentation as is required by Study Group’s Academic Office/Registry on an Annual or ad hoc basis.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment
  • Experience of teaching in the UK higher or further education
  • Experience in teaching international students
  • Experience in planning and running complex education courses and programmes
  • Experience in partnership working or partnership management in the education sector
