About the Role:

The School of Management at ARU is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Management, to join the Human Resources and Organisational Behaviour. subject group within the School. As well as contributing to the teaching and research activity within the subject group, the post holder will have a key role in leading Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) work within the Faculty of Business and Law. This will include driving the Faculty’s contributions to institution charter mark work, such as Athena Swan, and working with the Race Equality Charter Lead to embed inclusive practices within the Faculty. The post holder will have academic and/or practical experience of EDI within the workplace and will be passionate about working with colleagues within the Faculty and across the institution to evidence and share best practice. This will also align with the University’s priority research area of ‘Safe and Inclusive Communities’, and the post holder would be expected to contribute to this area with their own research and/or knowledge exchange activity.

With regard to teaching, we are committed to an active, collaborative learning pedagogy, and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching via face to face, blended, and distance learning approaches. The post-holder would contribute to teaching and supervision on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses in Business and Human Resource Management, in line with their subject expertise. We also have a growing PhD and professional doctorate programme, and the post-holder would contribute to student recruitment, teaching, and supervision as part of the development of this portfolio.

With a PhD or Professional Doctorate in a relevant discipline, and experience of EDI within the workplace, you will have excellent written and oral communication and be able to contribute to the collective life of the Faculty.
