This is an exciting time to join us as Admissions and Student Support Officer as we're currently working on changes to ensure that our student recruitment and marketing activities continue to meet the needs of our customers. The recruitment and selection process will be based on the job description detailed below but future changes may be made to this job description as we implement improvements in this area. You will be responsible for a range of duties within the Department of Physics and Astronomy related to providing an excellent experience to all our applicants and students, including:

  • Providing administrative support for all aspects of undergraduate admissions activities
  • Being the main point of contact for all undergraduate admissions enquiries
  • Responsibility for online module choice processes for both departments
  • Organising intro week activities
  • Supporting the Postgraduate Taught applications process as required.

You will be part of a large Professional Services team that supports the School of Mathematics and Statistics and Department of Physics and Astronomy. The two departments have a joint professional administrative support service, which provides dedicated support in all areas of learning and teaching, student experience, operations and health and safety to staff, students and visitors.

You will be educated to A level standard or hold equivalent qualifications or work experience, and have substantial administrative experience, preferably within a Higher Education environment. Excellent communication, customer service and team working skills are essential, as well as the ability to analyse and solve problems. You should also have proven organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
