We are seeking two highly motivated postdoctoral scientists to join Kelly Nguyen’s group to study telomere maintenance in mammalian cells. The work will build on recent advances in structural studies of human telomerase complexes from the group.
We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious scientists keen to work on a challenging project with good communication skills to join our friendly and supportive team. The first position will investigate the role of histones in human telomerase regulation. The ideal applicant will have a PhD in Structural Biology or related field or be due to complete within 6 months, with a strong background in mammalian cell culture, protein expression and purification and cryo-electron microscopy. Prior experience in protein/nucleic acid biochemistry would be beneficial. The second position will investigate the structures of telomeric binding complexes using cryo-electron tomography. The ideal applicant will have a PhD in Structural Biology or related field or be due to complete within 6 months, with a strong background in genome editing, mammalian cell culture, cryo-electron microscopy and/or electron tomography. Prior experience in protein purification and protein/nucleic acid biochemistry would be beneficial.
