We are looking for a proactive and self-driven individual to establish, develop and manage the coordination of market analysis, insights, and management information reporting to drive strategic decision-making and to enable a coordinated and data-driven approach to the University’s global engagement activities. This will be based on a variety of data (macro, micro, and business performance information) and human intelligence (personal expert analysis and strong internal and external relationships/networks) secured by the role holder.
The successful candidate will be required to develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners and across our campuses in the UK, China, and Malaysia and to keep abreast of developments and trends across the UK and international higher education sector, translating and triaging key information into reports and recommendations to encourage data-driven decision making across Faculties, the research and knowledge exchange, teaching partnership, study abroad, advancement, and international student recruitment functions across our global campuses.
This role will also be responsible for the strategic planning and operational delivery of high-value international events and delegations led by the Vice-Chancellor and other members of the University’s Executive Board. As such, the successful candidate will be expected to travel internationally as required.
We are looking for an individual who has significant experience of working in an internationally focused role, preferably in higher education, and a deep understanding of the systems, processes, and operational infrastructure needed to ensure the successful delivery of an international strategy. The successful candidate will possess a high level of market research and analytical skills, ability in using specialist analytical software such as SciVal, Alteryx and Tableau, and an excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 (particularly SharePoint, Dynamics, and PowerAutomate) and website content management systems, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
This position is a full-time (36.25 hours per week) permanent contract reporting to the Associate Director, Global Engagement (Strategy Support).
