Research Fellow - Discribe Hub+

The Digital Security by Design (DSbD) Programme, supported through the ISCF, aims to radically update the digital infrastructure currently underpinning the global economy, making it secure against future threats. Discribe Hub+ is one part of this wider initiative, with funding in place until 2024. Discribe’s Regulation and Policy work stream, led by Royal Holloway, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to be based at Royal Holloway with the aim to critically examine the DSbD technologies through a socio-legal or law and technology lens.

We are seeking candidates with a relevant PhD in socio-legal or law and technology studies that also have interests in regulatory design and/or science and technology studies (STS), particularly in relation to data protection, cyber resilience, or intellectual property law.

Additional Information: The ISG is amongst the largest departments dedicated to information/cyber security in the world with circa 20 academic staff in the department, as well as research and support staff. We are an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research (ACE-CSR), we host a Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Cyber Security and have circa 70 PhD students working across a wide range of security research.

We have a vibrant, embedded and successful multi-disciplinary research profile, and a strong ethos of working on real world security that encompasses, industry, standardisation, government and society.  This vibrant environment incorporates visiting researchers, research seminar series, reading groups and mini conferences, the WISDOM Group (Women in the Security Domain Or Mathematics) and we are proud of our collegial atmosphere and approach.
