Senior Lecturer Salary from £41,131 p.a.
As we expand the Department of Biosciences, we seek a highly motivated individual with the skills and experience to join our established team. We are specifically looking for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Physiology & Pharmacology, to support teaching of this subject to Bioscience Science students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
With either a PhD in a Bioscience discipline or related area and an emerging record in pharmacological research, scholar or practice, you'll have an enthusiastic approach to education. You'll support the existing delivery and help develop further the pharmacology and physiology teaching across the provision.
Nottingham Trent University has three pathways for academics:
Regardless of the pathway you will be expected to contribute to teaching across the team, specifically to support the delivery of molecular physiology/pharmacology, which complements our expertise in pharmacology, physiology, toxicology and neurobiology.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a team to help shape developments in both teaching and research or practice within the largest department in the School of Science and Technology. There are substantial facilities to support work in the denoted areas of research within the Department of Biosciences and beyond. On Clifton Campus, there is access to undertake physiological and/or pharmacological studies and relevant facilities, encompassing imaging suites, genomics and proteomics facilities, as well as numerous molecular biology technologies to support the highest quality research activity. There are also several researchers working in this area within the department to support coordinated projects; for example, Centre for Health, Ageing and Understanding Disease (CHAUD) and Health of the Environment (HoE).
You will work within our rapidly evolving Clifton Campus, a multi-award-winning site including a recently opened interdisciplinary science and technology building, with state-of-the-art bioscience research and teaching labs. In addition, a medical technology innovation facility and a building for engineering recently opened.
In the past 5 years we have been recipients of the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018, The Guardian University of the Year 2019 and Whatuni Student Choice Award Winners 2022, The Times and Sunday Times ‘Modern University of the year 2023’. All of these achievements are testament to the passion, ideas and ambition of our workforce.
