Background
Sat within the Student and Academic Administration in the School of Health & Psychological Sciences, the Quality and Compliance Manager will oversee the Quality and Compliance team and directly reports to the Head of Academic Services. This role comprises of key components such as the planning and delivery of activities around academic programme quality, practice, and governance. They will also ensure high quality returns to professional and regulatory bodies (i.e., NMC), as well as internal returns. This is an important role within the School and requires in-depth knowledge of NHS and professional body processes which are in addition to, and separate from, University requirements.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the post holder are to be the expert on University, NHS, and Professional Body quality requirements, advising the relevant Associate Deans on best practice, and ensuring all necessary accreditation is maintained. Along with advising the School of any risks to quality standards or rankings and propose remedial action, the post holder will lead the Quality and Compliance Team by providing a creative, thriving, supportive and positive working environment that empowers staff and encourages professional development and succession planning. Person Specification
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or hold significant work experience. They will also be required to have significant knowledge of the UK HE sector in terms of academic programmes and reporting/planning requirements. In addition they will have working knowledge of GDPR legislation, academic policies and processes in HE, as well as a demonstrable experience of operating quality assurance systems.
