Applications are invited for the role of Head of Doctoral Academy Development and Experience.
Based in the Doctoral Academy, the post-holder will work in collaboration with College Deans (Postgraduate), Pro Vice-Chancellors Research, and Education and Student Experience, and the PGR Strategy Group to support the development and delivery of the University’s strategic priorities for postgraduate research students, aligned with the University’s strategy; lead projects and initiatives to implement strategic priorities and to deliver enhancements to the postgraduate research student experience; provide leadership to the Doctoral Academy, responding to strategic guidance from the PGR Strategy Group, ensuring it optimises its resources to provide an excellent student experience aligned with sector standards and expectations.
The post-holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of a portfolio of learning, development, and community-building initiatives that will enhance the postgraduate research student experience. This will include work in collaboration with colleagues across the University and through regional alliances; be responsible for the continuous enhancement and operational delivery of the Academy’s doctoral training programme; identify and apply best practice in researcher development and provide excellent customer service; promoting values and behaviours that reflect the culture of a customer-focused service department.
