Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the finance function to enable it to support the University’s future strategic aims. The post is responsible for the leadership and operational management of finance, procurement and student finance. The successful candidate will be able to combine a day to day hands-on approach with a longer term broader view.
They will be responsible for all aspects of finance and financial reporting including accurate monthly management accounting, statutory accounts, treasury and cashflow, VAT, budgeting and forecasting, procurement, student finance, and compliance.
They will work closely with the Heads of Departments, Academic staff and the Senior Management Team to ensure effective financial management and supportive student finance administration.
The successful candidate will be a CCAB qualified accountant, and educated to degree level or equivalent. In addition, they will also have significant post-qualification experience in leading and managing a finance team within the education sector, along with excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence and present to senior colleagues and boards.
