The opportunity

You will be a key part of a busy and well-established team. As part of the Programmes team you will be able to develop your expertise by managing your own suite of programmes taught in Cardiff and at our International Partners. In addition to performing a number of business critical functions which include ensuring the accuracy of student records and working with colleagues in Schools to service and support Examination Boards, this role will provide you with the opportunity to establish and build links with all aspects of the student life-cycle, including Enrolment and Awards.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced team, you will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

What you’ll do – key duties

  • Gain and apply a wide knowledge of the Academic Regulations and technical skills to manage and audit students’ records from enrolment throughout the duration of study
  • Establish a network with staff to manage the submission of information pertinent to the progression of students throughout their study
  • Collate business critical reports to inform Examination Boards of students’ progress and guidance to allow consistent decisions according to the academic regulations
  • Interpretation of data within reports to enhance data quality
  • Contribute to the student experience by managing Notification of Results for the programmes within your suite of Programmes, ensuring that results are released in line with University deadlines
  • Producing accurate and comprehensive Examination Board minutes

  • Ability to work under pressure to ensure compliance with strict deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • A commitment to networking, teamwork and cross-departmental working, including with overseas Partners
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills to effectively read reports with attention to detail
  • IT skills, including data entry and interrogation of reports
  • Ability to make accurate notes for purpose of producing high quality minutes for the Examination Board meetings

What you’ll have - essential qualifications

  • Experience operating a database system, including input and output reports
  • Organising and planning work to meet deadlines
  • Generating routine reports and correspondence
  • Offering bespoke guidance on processes and legislation, for example Academic Regulations
  • Experience communicating complex information effectively to a range of users
