About the Role
Applications are sought for a Centre Administrator/Personal Assistant (PA) to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Centre Lead, Deputy Centre Lead, Laboratory Operations Manager and other staff and students in their execution of all Centre-related tasks. The post will be based in the Centre for Haemato-Oncology in the John Vane Science Centre at Barts Cancer Institute.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with GCSE (Grade C or above) or equivalent including English and Maths and significant secretarial (PA)/administrative experience, in a busy office setting. The ability to prioritise a varied workload to meet deadlines, communicate and work well within a team are also essential. Experience of HR/recruitment procedures, financial and other record keeping would be advantageous, as well as experience in a HEI setting.
About the Institute
The Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a Cancer Research UK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer. BCI combines ground-breaking basic research with the expertise of clinicians and clinician scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to achieve improvements in cancer patient care. BCI is also a partner in the CRUK City of London Major Centre which is a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics. BCI is committed in supporting and developing future cancer researchers through its extensive postgraduate training.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £29,642- £36,348 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
