Our areas of specialism cover performance (acting, voice, movement), creative, design and production (theatre practice), and drama and applied theatre.
Our Deputy Principal is stepping down from the post at Central. The Deputy Principal acts as the most senior finance person for the organisation, and we are now looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to fulfil this position. This is a newly configured, senior role reporting to the Principal and part of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). The CFO is a significant strategic role that oversees the institution’s finances, and operations. They will work closely with the Principal on developing and delivering the Strategic Plan as well as financial planning and providing management and oversight of operational delivery across the institution. This role will be crucial in ensuring that Central remains a sectoral leader in specialist dramatic arts education, delivering high-quality academic and business-related results, the efficiency of operations, and innovative utilisation of resources.
We are looking for an inspiring and highly motivated individual with experience of successful strategic leadership and operational management. The next CFO must have a high level of financial acumen with experience of managing large complex budgets as well as a strong track record of strategic financial planning. Candidates should bring relevant experience of business and resource planning and strategy setting at a high level. They should be entrepreneurial, commercially minded, and able to spot opportunities and diversify income streams. The ideal candidate will also have had experience overseeing operations, HR, IT and/or estate management. They must have excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to empower and support as well as work collaboratively with the rest of the ELT. Experience in Higher Education and knowledge of the funding landscape and relationships with key sector bodies is highly desirable.
