Background
At City Student's Union we’re building a better student's union we want to empower students to be successful by providing services and support that enhances their experience at City and when they graduate.
With a rich history spanning over 125 years, City, University of London Student's Union is the primary organisation representing the views of almost 20,000 students at City, University of London to the institution and beyond.
The Union Advice service at City has been on a big journey over the past 18 months and is currently at a key stage in its development. This role will be a key player in our Advice team, supporting the team and development of the service, including contributing to maintaining our recent Advice Quality Standards (AQS) kite mark and the playing a part in the launch of our Money Advice Service.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide professional, free, impartial and confidential advice on a range of academic issues to City students and support the ongoing development and high quality standards of the Union Advice service.
You will contribute to the Union Advice team strategic and operational planning and delivery and support the delivery of Student's Union Officer and Assembly priorities across the year as needed.
You will adhere to all relevant Union policy, procedures and governing documents at all times and actively demonstrate commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence a diverse range of people; they will have knowledge and experience of supporting clients within an academic, support or advice environment; a proven track record in keeping effective and confidential records and be able to demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high levels of customer service.
