Saïd Business School is recruiting for a Director of Student Services reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of the School. The Director of Student Services will be an innovative and experienced leader, who will be accountable for delivering services, outputs and outcomes that enable and enhance the Business School’s education provision and the student experience. This is a new position, a key senior management role, created to provide effective and coordinated student services across the student lifecycle; oversight of academic regulations, quality and standards; and to drive the delivery of an outstanding student experience that reflects the aspirations and values of the School.
The Director will currently lead a team of 3 direct reports and around 25 indirect reports, staff whose purpose is to provide high-quality, responsive support for students across the breadth of the School’s accredited degree programmes. The ideal candidate will need to take a strategic view across their portfolio, promoting and identifying opportunities for collaboration and consistent, effective ways of working. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the learning environment and the strategic challenges and opportunities that the sector currently faces, leading proactively on horizon scanning the external landscape in relation to developments in education, student and compliance matters.
The Director of Student Services’ responsibilities span a broad range of administrative and professional support for programme and student-facing teams. These include student assessment services; guidance on teaching and learning policy (including quality assurance); timetabling; student wellbeing and funding and scholarships. The Director of Student Services will also collaborate with others around the coordination of student admissions to programmes.
