The University wants to do change better and has created a new Directorate, Strategic Change & Delivery to make that happen. Within our new Directorate is the Change Delivery Team who will build capacity across our institution to deliver significant strategic change associated with the University’s new Strategy to 2027.

We are building our Change Delivery Team from the ground up. Our role is to lead and help to deliver change, to empower our leadership across our community to build capacity to do change well, and to support our stakeholders to adopt change positively.

We are looking for a highly experienced and self-motivated Head of Portfolio Management to help embed our change management culture to underpin the delivery of substantial and a diverse range of strategic change initiatives. Supporting and influencing senior organisational leadership with their portfolios, you will ensure that projects are professionally planned to implement and embed strategic change effectively to deliver maximum benefits.

Your priorities will include:

Who we’re looking for:

  • Relevant and demonstrable experience in Programme and Portfolio Management. Thorough understanding of portfolio and change management techniques and methods.
  • Lead a team, and work with partners and suppliers in the delivery of large-scale and complex change.
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the portfolio objectives, inspire, and motivate staff to execute delivery of our goals.
  • A high degree of political sensitivity, astuteness, and the ability to use informal influence and power to overcome obstacles and achieve success across all institutional sub-strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and “sell” the portfolio goals and objectives our community, and to persuade at a senior level.
