The School of Law seeks to make one appointment, either a Lecturer (7/8) or Senior Lecturer (9), in Environmental Law.
The School of Law is a centre for innovative world leading research and excellence in education. We are proud to be an international law school with a rich heritage. Law was one of the four original faculties established by the University upon its founding in 1451. The subject has been taught continuously since 1714. Today, we teach students from over 30 countries with a staff from across the world.
A core element of the role will be to teach Environmental Law across the LLB (Scots Law and Common Law) and LLM programmes.
You will undertake research of international excellence and contribute to knowledge exchange activities relative to the discipline, contribute to learning and teaching on agreed programmes and undertake administration and service activities in line with the School/College’s strategic objectives. For appointment at Grade 8, a substantial contribution will include leading high quality research activities and delivering, organising and reviewing key areas of teaching and learning within the School.
At appointment at Grade 9, you will make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the School/College through leading and contributing to research of international standard, high quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, securing research funding, and providing academic leadership and management within the School/College. To actively engage in relationships with external stakeholders that advance knowledge exchange, public understanding and outreach.
