This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the Educational Development Team, based in the Centre for Academic Development. The Centre provides a single point of contact for staff seeking to enhance their teaching and learning practice and works with students to develop their academic skills.
The part-time Educational Development Adviser post will be responsible for leading, co-ordinating, and delivering support and training for staff and postgraduate research students, who teach or support learning, to gain professional recognition from Advance HE. The post-holder will be instrumental in promoting and quality assuring the individual professional recognition pathway, which is part of the University of Aberdeen’s accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Framework for Learning & Teaching.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in the design, development, co-ordination and delivery of Higher Education courses and programmes, either as an educational development professional or as an academic practitioner with a strong interest in the professional development of staff. They will have excellent communication, organisational and digital skills, and a demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with academic staff, postgraduate research students and individuals who support learning.
The post holder must have experience of teaching in Higher Education and ideally be educated to doctorate level. They must hold Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA) and be knowledgeable about the Advance HE professional recognition scheme and the UK Professional Standards Framework (2011).
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £35,333 - £42,155 per annum (pro-rata) with placement according to qualifications and experience. The post is currently available at 0.8 FTE on a fixed-term basis ending July 2024.
